After eight years of marriage, Anna Faris and Chris Pratt have legally separated. Though this break up comes as a surprise to the public, they are conducting their separation as amicably as they appeared to conduct their relationship. The couple share one son, five-year-old Jack.
It seems that both parties are taking a very child-centred view to the separation. This is something that judge’s like to see. In Ontario, a judge would be more likely to award joint custody when they can see that parents are able to communicate and consult each other on parenting issues constructively. Moreover, children who can see their parents work together and communicate respectively post-divorce generally face far less emotional distress than those whose parents cannot.
As sad as it may be for us to watch such an iconic relationship come to an end, it seems that Faris and Pratt are truly making the best of a bad situation.
