This episode, Andrew will be joined by special guest David Wolgelerenter, Principal of DSW Actuarial Services Inc. located in Toronto, Ontario. David has over 25 years of actuarial experience and assumes primary responsibility for all services provided by his firm, DSW Actuarial Services Inc. DSW provides independent actuarial services, with a specialization in providing actuarial evidence. David has presented at Osgoode Hall Law School and a variety of Ontario Bar Association programs from 2003 to 2014 with respect to pension issues in family law practice. He has been a member of the Actuarial Evidence Committee of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries from 2004 to 2015, and has aided in developing the current Standards of Practice for actuarial evidence in Canada. David is joining Andrew to discuss the process of valuing one’s pension amidst their separation. Specifically, David will help shed light on the process of valuing one’s pension plan benefits upon marriage breakdown, important considerations for spouses thinking of separating as well as his recommendations in response.
